Percy Daniel Kingshott
Percy Daniel Kingshott was a Pioneer in K Special Company, Royal Engineers. His service number was 128296.
Percy was born around 1895 in Notting Hill, London to Albert Henry & Alice Jane Kingshott. He was the fourth child in a family of twelve children.
Percy joined the Royal Engineers in January 1916 and after a course of training served on the Western Front. He took part in many engagments and was poisoned by gas.
Percy was injured in the line of duty on the Western Front and taken to the casualty clearing station at Pernes, France. Whilst awaiting embarkation before being invalided home he was killed by a bomb dropped during a German air raid. The date was 20th May 1918 and Percy was only 23 years old.
Percy is commemorated at Pernes British Cemetery at Pernes-en-Artois, France.
Percy was my 6th cousin twice removed.
