Albert Edward Kinchett

Albert Edward Kinchett is the only member of the family with that spelling of the surname that I have found who died in either of the World Wars. The family page can be viewed here.

Albert was born around 1896 in Brighton, Sussex, England. He was the youngest of two sons born to Richard James Kinchett and his wife Adelaide Mary nee Hollebone. His father died in 1901, and the two boys were brought up by their mum in Brighton.

Unfortunately, Albert's Army Service Record doesn't survive, so I don't know much about his service. He served with the Queens Royal West Surrey Regiment and the Labour Corps.

I am afraid that I don't know the circumstances of Albert's death, but it occurred after the armistice. He died in France on 15th February 1919, some three months after the war ended.

Albert was my 7th cousin once removed. He was postumously awarded the British War and Victory medals.
